Enhance Your Sleep with Calming Bedtime Music

Enhance Your Sleep with Calming Bedtime Music

Struggling to fall asleep? Calming bedtime music and pink noise may be the perfect solution. Research shows that soothing tunes, such as soft instrumental music, nature sounds, and pink noise, can help reduce stress, lower heart rates, and promote relaxation. Pink noise, a consistent and balanced sound with lower frequencies (like rainfall or rustling leaves), has been shown to improve sleep quality by promoting deeper sleep stages. By incorporating these sounds as well as using our pillow spray into your child's nightly routine, you can create a calming environment, making it easier to drift off into restful sleep.

Calming bedtime sounds and music can be a great way to help relax the mind and body for your child (and for the parent!!) before sleep. Some popular options include:

  • Nature sounds such as the sound of ocean waves, rain, or a gentle stream
  • White noise, the sound of a fan or a white noise machine
  • Pink noise, more like crunchy and rustling sounds
  • Relaxing instrumental music such as classical or jazz music
  • Soothing sounds like lullabies or guided meditation recordings

It's important to find the sound that works best for your child, something they warm to… something that is familiar, and experiment with different choices to see what helps them relax the most. Some may find the sound of rainfall to be calming, whilst others may prefer the sound of a fan. Additionally, it's also important to keep the volume at a comfortable level, not too loud!

It's also good to note that some may find silence more calming, so it's always good to test out different options and see what works best for your child.

There is scientific evidence that suggests that certain types of music can help promote sleep and relaxation. Studies have shown that listening to calming and slow-paced music before bed can help reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, lower heart rate and blood pressure, and promote feelings of calmness and relaxation. This can make it easier to fall asleep and improve the overall quality of sleep.

One study found that listening to 45 minutes of calming music before bedtime led to a significant reduction in insomnia symptoms, including difficulty falling asleep, waking up during the night, and feelings of unrefreshed sleep.

Another study found that children and adults who listened to calming music before bed had a deeper and more restful sleep, as well as improved mood and cognitive function the following day.

Additionally, there is also research showing that nature sounds and white noise can be beneficial for sleep. For example, the sound of ocean waves has been found to reduce anxiety and promote relaxation, which can help improve sleep, this paired with our Deep Sea pillow spray will really give your child the best night sleep ever!

It's worth noting that not all music is calming and some music can be stimulating, so it's best to look for music that is specifically designed to promote sleep and relaxation. Let's give it a go!
